Usually it is girls, not boys, who go to the washroom in groups. So when packs of 13 year old boys are making a bee line for the bathroom, something is up.
The kids on my trip are taking special souvenirs home. Condoms. A few found the dispensers in the bathrooms and the news spread like wildfire. “They come in different flavors!” one boy said, his voice a mix of shock and wonder. Soon, even the girls were pulling out their wallets and looking for toonies.
I was about to comment about the loss of childhood innocence until they started talking about making balloon animals with them. Guess the world has changed that much since I was that age.
